Mike has always enjoyed playing and photographing sport. Since his retirement from playing Rugby Union he has dedicated his spare time to photographing a wide range of sports around the country which include rugby, football, cricket and equestrian events.
Working as a photographer for an agency in London and as a freelance, Mike has his work regularly published in the national and local press with publications that include The Times, Guardian, Daily Mail, Express, Star on Sunday, Sunday Mirror, News of the World, Archant Publications, The Daily Post, Trinity Mirror Group, NW Newspaper Group, www.ecb.co.uk, www.cricketworld.com, www.pcuk.co.uk
Equestrianism is one of Mike's favourite subjects for his camera. He travels extensively around the country photographing shows large and small, from Championship Events to Fun Rides.
Mike's interest in equestrian photography first started when his daughter started riding at the local stables, some six years ago, and being invited to photograph local events. It has since become an occupation that dominates his weekends, especially in the summer months, and is always a pleasure to do. Action shots are his favourites (due to his background in sports photography), but he is happy to cover any discipline such as Showing, Working Hunter, Show Jumping, Dressage, 3-Day Eventing, Field Games, Polocrosse and Polo.
